I gain great satisfaction from being a small cog in a big wheel in raising awareness, funds or speaking about ShelterBox. It may be a drop in the ocean, but many drops can begin to have an impact. It feels good to be positive and take action, rather than be an armchair critic.
Our volunteers support our work towards a future where no one is without shelter after disaster.
Some volunteers help raise awareness of our work through talks and at events. Volunteers can help support fundraising campaigns and support fundraising events. Some of our volunteers also use their specialised skills to complete specific projects and others travel to the places where we are working to support our teams and partners on the ground.
We want our volunteers to feel rewarded for supporting us! Our volunteers will get to meet like-minded people. We provide training and support, annual in-person meetings and valuable work experience. With volunteering you can have a flexible experience, choosing a role to suit you. And we’ll check to make sure you’re satisfied, and see what more we can do to enhance your experience.
Our volunteers are vital members of the ShelterBox family. They generously share their time, skills and knowledge across a wide range of roles and activities.
Most roles focus on telling the story of ShelterBox. This might be by public speaking, using social media, fundraising or attending community events.
We also have volunteers that help us behind the scenes in our office undertaking time-limited projects or utilising their specialised skills to help achieve certain tasks.
